Nacho Ampersand

Happy Tuesday Nachos!  Hope your week is going well. Back today with a new Nacho Average Challenge, this week it's a color challenge. Lots of different inspiration from my fellow Nacho Designers with this color combination! Hope it sparks some inspiration for you to join us for this challenge.

Here is what I created with this color challenge, a simple wedding card. When I first saw the new Ampersand Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the new Occasions catalog I knew I had to have it. I ran it through my Big Shot with some Sweet Sorbet DSP from the new Sale-A-Bration catalog (which is live today!!) and there are so many awesome things in it! I know I will be playing with this embossing folder more.

We can't wait to see what you create! Hope you will join us. Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time.

Sunday Stamps Banner Love

Happy Sunday Stampers! Ready to play along with a new sketch at Sunday Stamps? I'm hosting for the next two weeks and I'm continuing my love of banners. We hope it'll inspire you to play along with us, we can wait to see what you create.

Here is what I created:

A slight variation on my sketch, but that's the fun in creating. My card base is Blushing Bride layered with Read Red card stock. Just in time for Valentine's Day.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.

Friday Mashup on a Wednesday...

Happy Wednesday Stampers! Hope your week is going well.

I have a new creation to share with you today. The Friday Mashup is featuring my favorite color combo right now, and with Valentine's Day around the corner, inspiration hit. Great inspiration from the Design Team.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
Create a project using the Colors "Coastal Cabana, Real Red & Crumb Cake."
Create a project using "Hearts & Arrows. "
Or Mash it Up and create a project using "the above colors along with Hearts & Arrows."

I decided to Mash it Up and use the color combo and a project using hearts and arrows.  This is what I came up with:

I created a scrapbook page, a traditional one, lol.  Although I need to photograph it better.  If you click on the photo it'll become larger. I used to create scrapbooks before I got into card making and I do miss it. Perhaps I'll start getting back into in it. Now I just need to find a frame for my page.

Thanks for stopping by today, until next time.

Wish Big Nachos!

Happy Tuesday Stampers! If you had a three day weekend, hope you wonderful day off yesterday. Did you do any crafting yesterday? I had big plans to create all day long, but I woke up with a sore throat and a big headache, so I just rested.

We have a fun new sketch for you today at Nacho Average Challenges. Hope it inspires you to take  out your stamping tools and create something awesome.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I initially struggled with this one at first but then I decided to keep it simple. The base of my card is Soft Sky card stock. Oh my goodness, what a beautiful soft blue, hence the name right! I layered it with Smoky Slate card stock. I used the Tasteful Trim Bigz die to create my waves, which were cut out in Pool Party. I stamped the splatter in Island Indigo and sponged the sides a bit. The stars (from the Perfect Pennants stamp set) are inked in Crushed Curry and I cut out each one. The Wish Big sentiment is the perfect size for my card.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Until next time.

More Sunday Stamps Pink!

Edited: My card was Narelle's Pick for the Freshly Made Challenge #119! Yay! Thank you Narelle!

Happy Sunday Stampers! Hope your weekend is going well. I'm spending my time creating so I'm having lots of fun!

There's still time for you to join us for our Sunday Stamps color challenge! The deadline is this Friday, January 24, 2014 at 6 pm EST. Thanks to all of you who have played so far, great creations!!

I combined our color challenge with the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for my creation today. Great non-traditional layout and lots of inspiration with this sketch at their blog.

Here is what I created:

The base of my card is Night of Navy and I layered with Strawberry Slush. I used the side of the Kaleidoscope DSP in Strawberry Slush but covered the colored triangles so you wouldn't see them. The Happy Birthday sentiment is embossed in white so that it would stand out more.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your Sunday and until next time!

Swap Saturday

Hello Stampers! Ready to see some fabulous swaps featuring stamp sets from the new Occasions catalog? Okay then, let's start the show!

I participated in several organized swaps with my Upline group and through our Demo only website called Stampin' Connection. The swaps from today are from Rhonda Morgan's INKin' All Night Group.

This is my card, I used the stamp set called Happy Congratulations. I did some color blocking on the front of my card, something different. The base is Basic Black and I layered it with Basic Gray. Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry is one of my favorite color combos right now.

First up,  is Rhonda Morgan using Blessed Easter:

This next beauty is from Lucinda Fish and she used the Peachy Keen stamp set with the coordinating On Film Framelit Dies:

Next is Dana Taylor and she also used the Happy Congratulations stamp set with the Watercolor Wonder DSP:

Sheri Stansbarger created this great graduation card using the Pomp & Circumstance stamp set:

Next we have Anne Howe using the stamp set People Like You:

This simple beauty is from Diana Gibbs, she used the stamp set Peaceful Petals:

And last, but certainly not least, featuring the stamp set Love You to the Moon is Marlene Salvato:

Aren't they amazing swaps!! Which card is your favorite?  Can't decide.  Well, next Saturday I'll be featuring more swaps!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you have a great weekend.  Until next time.

Follow My Heart...

TGIF Stampers! So glad it's Friday! It's been a long week, work wise but a fun week creative wise. I have a new card to share with you today.  I used the Follow My Heart stamp set and combined it with Perfect Pennants. Love it!

The base of my card is Coastal Cabana, layered with Crumb Cake. Did you know that the Banner Punch, which isn't available until the Sale-a-Bration catty, January 28 coordinates with the mini XOXO banner stamp! Gotta love it when our Stampin' Up! products coordinate so well!

Below are the rest of the images in the Follow My Heart stamp set:

Thanks for stopping by today! Come back tomorrow as I have swaps from the new Occasions Catalog to share with you. Until next time.

Throwback Thursday!

Hello Stampers! I have another Throwback Thursday creation to share with you.  I'm featuring retired Stampin' Up! sets that I own in my Throwback Thursday posts. Today I'm featuring the stamp set called "Express Yourself" and I'm so happy that I kept this stamp set! I also can't wait to pair it with the stamp set "Perfect Blend", the sentiments will work great with the coffee cup!

Here is what I created:

I came across a new blog challenge, The Card Concept and their color combination inspired me. The Stampin' Up! colors I used are: Crumb Cake (Kraft), Blushing Bride (Pink), Very Vanilla (Vanilla) and Early Espresso (Espresso).  I love pairing Blushing Bride with Early Espresso, very soft colors.
I used the Shabby Chic style for my card. It's a great blog challenge and I look forward to playing along with them again. Trying out different stamping styles is a great way for me to get out of my comfort zone when creating.

I also used the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday blog challenge for my card, gotta love those banners!

Thanks for stopping by today! Until next time my friends!

Happy Birthday Holly E.

Hello Stampers!  Hope your week is going well. Happy Wednesday to all of you. Hope your week is going well.

Today I want to do a big birthday shot out to Holly E. who's birthday is this month! Happy Birthday!! While I've never met Holly in person, she is awesome paper crafter and designer!  Plus she is the creator of various blog challenges!  Hope you have a wonderful birthday month Holly!

So, when I saw the challenge at Friday Mashup! I knew I couldn't miss the opportunity to play along. Holly is hosting this week's challenge.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with "Twine."
  2. Create a "Birthday Themed" project.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Birthday Project with some Twine."

I also used the sketch that Mary Jo created from Techno Stamper. This is a fun sketch and I think I'll be using again.
Here is what I created for both challenges:

I still have a lot of Pool Party bakers twine and I figured this was a perfect project to use it on.  It worked out well for me to create two coordinating projects. Hope you like them Holly!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Until next time.

Make a Nacho Wish!

Happy Tuesday Stampers!  Can it really already be the 14th of January???  WOW! Hope you're having fun! I sure am!

We have a fun new color challenge for you at Nacho Average Challenges. I hope you get a chance to check out my fellow Nacho Designers creations for this challenge. Lots of inspiration!

I decided to make a birthday card, because you can never have enough birthday cards, right! I was inspired to create this card after seeing a similar card in our demonstrator only magazine. Love the design and easy to do.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day!  Until next time.

Sunday Stamps Pink!

Happy Sunday Stampers! Hope your weekend is going well!  It's been a busy one for me, but fun.

We have a fun new color challenge for you at Sunday Stamps starting today. Thanks to all of you who continue to play along with us, we love seeing your creations! I continue to be in awe of my fellow Sunday Stamps designers and their creations. I hope their creations inspire you to join us for this challenge.

The Stampin' Up! colors I used are; Night of Navy, Strawberry Slush and Silver Glimmer paper. This color combo inspired me to create my own stationary! It sounds elementary, but when I first saw the color combo, I didn't know what I was going to create.  Then I remembered I had created some stationary for my friend as a birthday gift and I really liked the end result.  I am a paper crafter after all, so creating stationary is another item in our paper world.  I also liked these flat front cards because, sometimes when I create a full size card I don't have that much to write. Ever have that problem?  These are perfect to send and write a quick note. I'm excited to create more of my own stationary in different colors and designs. What about you, have you ever made your own stationary?

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great Sunday!  Looking forward to seeing your creations. Until next time.

Perfect Pennants

Morning Stampers! Hope your week is going well.  This past weekend as I was getting ready for my sideline team meeting with Rhonda Morgan, I was browsing various blog challenges for inspiration on what to create for our team swap.

I came across this great sketch from Karen Giron from The Sweetest Thing/Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and I wanted to play along. I think this is my first time playing along with her! Thanks Karen for the inspiration.

Here is my take on the sketch. I love the way it turned out! Lots of layers and texture and the sentiment from Perfect Pennants works great!

I had to create eight duplicate cards, so once I got the design down, it was easy to repeat and go.

I'll share the swaps I received from my Monday night meeting later this week.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time.

Techno Stamper Sketch

Happy Sunday Stampers! Hope your weekend is going well.  So far so good, we went to a Rockabilly show yesterday and my good friend won 3rd place in the Pinup contest.  I still have to put away all my Christmas decorations and tree away,  but I probably won't do that until next weekend. I woke up today feeling a bit under the weather so I've just been lounging and resting but I hope I don't get sick.

Anyhow, Mary Jo from Tecnho Stamper has a great sketch that I wanted to create with. Lots of possibilities with this one but definitely a great one for Valentine's Day!

Here is my take on the sketch. Not quite Valentine's Day but the colors are, lol.

I'm loving the Fresh Prints DSP Stack! Love the DSP designs in it. Thanks for stopping by today, until next time.
