Fresh Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone. Hope your weekend is going well. I've been sick for the last five days and I finally feel better. Was down with a cold/sinus infection and it was not fun.

Anyhow, today we're celebrating my Mother-in-Law's birthday and it was the perfect chance to create one for her. The sketch from Freshly Made Sketches inspired to create.  Lots of beautiful inspiration from the Design Team.

For my card, I combined some new and retired items. Back in the day, Stampin' Up! used to offer stamp sets in Spanish.  While they are no longer offered, I kept most of the stamp sets. The Picture Perfect Party 6x6 DSP is perfect (LOL) for birthdays. Great variety and the colors are bright and cheerful. The balloon honeycomb embellishments are retired but there are currently in the annual catalog in new colors. The baker's twine is from the December 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit. I realized after the fact that this card will not be easy to stuff into an envelope, but I'll make it work.  My MIL loves handmade greeting cards and displays several cards I've made for her in the past. Makes you feel good when people hold on to your creations.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great Sunday and stay healthy. All the best.

Fortunate Fresh Friday

Happy Friday Friends! Hope the new year is off to a great start for you.  Happy to be sharing more creations with you, I definitely want to create more this year and ultimately send out my cards. I decided to play along with the sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches and I still have lots of new stamps sets from the 2018 Occasions Catalog that I have not inked up yet-GASP!  I know right! Gotta ink up those stamp sets as quickly as possible, in my case, when inspiration hits.
When I saw the stamp set Fortunate to Know You, I knew I wanted it right away.  Not only because I love Asian food but the sentiments are cute and I have lots of ideas on what to create with it!  Plus, did you know 2018 is the Year of the Dog! Yes, it is. Lots of good things in store for us.
So, both of my cards may look similar, but the only difference is I watercolored the second card a little more. Card base is Real Red, cardstock is Early Espresso and Crumb Cake. I embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder. The Real Red Cotton Ribbon is retired but I have so  much of it, great way to use it!

Not much difference but I like the sketch layout and it can work for so many cards. Make sure you check out the creations at Freshly Made Sketches and hope you play along with them as well.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a Fortunate Friday!

Until next time.

Happy 2018!

Hello Stampers! Happy New Year!  Can't believe it's already 2018. I definitely have some crafty goals for the new year, definitely creating more and sharing more.  If you're new to my blog, welcome!  I've been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator since 2010. This was the second time I had signed up to be demo and I still love it! I've been a part of Di's Country INKers since 2010 and she is an amazing leader.  Every month, we have a different blog hop theme and this month, the theme is new items from the 2018 Occasions Catalog or the 2018 Sale-a-Bration catalog.

For my creations today, I'm featuring the Picture Perfect 6x6 Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalog.  Before you continue scrolling down to see the images, let me just share that my creations for the blog hop this month are simple.  I share that because sometimes, as a demo, I think that all my creations should be perfect and so detailed and sometimes that stresses me out. Which really, that doesn't matter, as long as you took the time to create something and share with it others, that's all that matters.  So, since I'm always needing birthday cards, I decided to make simple cards, and showcase the paper, which this DSP is perfect for.

The sentiment for this card above is from the Stamp Set Beautiful Day. I'll showcase another card with that set later.

The coordinating colors of the DSP are Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Peekaboo Peach, Pool Party and Whisper White.

Isn't this card yummy!  Gotta love those sugar cookies and zero calories!  This sentiment is from the Lemon Zest stamp set. Love the photo and made it my focal point.

I instead decorated the inside of my card. I used the thick Whisper White cardstock as my base which works perfect for making several greeting cards.

Up next is my amazing friend Ellie! Can't wait to see what she creates!

If you get lost, don't worry, below are all the links to our blogs!  Stop by and share the love.

Wishing you all the best for 2018!  May have a very crafty year. Thanks for stopping by.
