Love/Amor

Happy Friday Stampers!  Hope your week is going well. The days are flying by so quickly, good thing we're having fun.  Luckily, there are still some day left before February 14 to make more handmade projects.

The fun blog challenges over at The Paper Players and at Sunday Stamps inspired me to create two bilingual cards with a Valentines theme. Haven't played with either blog challenge that much so it was fun to participate with them.  Lots of inspiration with both blogs, make sure to check them out.

I used the Painted with Love Specialty DSP and the Large Letters Framelits. This was a simple card to create, mostly cardstock layers. This DSP is really pretty and the colors are nice. The base of my card is Melon Mambo cardstock, layered with Blushing Bride cardstock and the DSP is layered under Rich Razzleberry. The Gold Foil Sheets add a nice elegant touch.

Amor is Love in Spanish.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a great weekend.

February Blog Hop

Happy February 1st Friends! 2018 is definitely underway and in full swing. Welcome to another fun blog hop with my fellow demonstrators within Di's Country INKers. The theme this month is Valentine's Day. I love creating Valentine's Day cards and projects and my goal this month is to send out my cards early so that they arrive by February 14.

So on to the blog hop, if you're just arriving, you have visited Barb's Blog and seen her beautiful creation. I love her creations and so grateful that she is part of our team.

It has been a while since I played along with the amazing designers over at Fab Friday and their sketch really inspired me.  It's fun playing with blog challenges because it gets my creativity mojo going. Make sure you check out their creations as well.

For my first creation, I used the new stamp set from the 2018 Occasions catalog, Fortunate To Know You. February is also the month of the Chinese New Year, which 2018 is the Year of the Dog. The base of my card is Crumb Cake and I layered with another piece of Crumb Cake, except I sponged the edges of Early Espresso. I remember when I first started stamping, I used to sponge every piece of paper on my cards. The sentiment is from the Blooming' Love stamp set. Really love the way this turned out, perfect masculine card, no?

The Fab Friday sketch inspired me to create another card, this time celebrating my home state of Arizona. February 14 is also our birthday, back on 1912 we became the 48th State. The base of my card is Melon Mambo and the designer series paper is the Painted with Love Specialty. The colors is this DSP are so pretty!  I also used the new embossing folder called Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions. Love the subtle effect of the sequins. I traced a sticker of the Arizona shape onto one of the DSPs. Love living in Arizona, been here since I was three years old.

One last project to share with you all. While I was creating the other projects, the idea for this card popped into my head and I had to run with it while it was fresh on my mind. Does that ever happen to you?  I combined two, really three items from the Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration. I absolutely  love the way it turned out! Sometimes I amaze myself! LOL. The "YOU" sentiment is from the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies, which you can earn for free with a $100 purchase. The "are simply" sentiment is from the Amazing You stamp set and you earn this stamp set with a $50 purchase.  Both are in the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

Everything else on my card is from the Sunshine & Rainbows Bundle, which you save 10% when you buy the bundle. Oh, and the clear epoxy shapes are new as well!  I just love this card and the sentiment is right on point. If someone gave me this card, it would make me smile. This will be the card I make this month to send out to friends and family.

One of the big reasons I joined to be a demonstrator was for the discount in ordering Stampin' Up! items.  My wish list continues to grow and the discount helps. I love being a demonstrator and being a part of the Stamping' Up! family.

Up next is Connie!  Can't wait to see her creations for this month.
