Create with Connie & Mary challenge

Hello Stampers, hope your week is going well. Trying to get back into the swing of stamping.

As a new subscriber to the Create with Connie and Mary, not only do I have access to the cool projects, but on Saturdays they host creative challenges!  So since this my first time signing up with them, I figured I give the challenge a try.  I've been seeing these colors used a lot with Valentine theme projects but I wanted to try something something different.

I used the Qunit-Essential Flower stamp inking it with whisper white craft ink and embossing it white, then I inked it with primose petals onto our paper daisies. I layered it our In-Color Dahlias. I used two different DSPs; Patio Party (top layer) and Summer Smooches (bottom layer). The jar is from the perfectly preserved stamp set, which carried over onto the Spring Catalog.  Not sure if I like the end result, but I may try out this color combo again. Maybe I should've stayed with a Valentine theme, hmm.  Anyhow friends, hope you have a good night!  Thanks for stopping by.

Sunday Stamps Challenge

Hello stampers!  Happy Sunday.  I'm having so much fun designing for the Sunday Stamps blog challenge.  Steph is our host this week and she has an awesome color challenge for us. Have you played along with us yet? Join us!  Come check us out here.

Have you tried the triple time stamping technique? It's such a cool technique.  This week for my creation, I followed the instructions from Spiltcoast Stampers on this technique.  It's been awhile since I created a square card and I love the way it turned out!

The base of the card is crumb cake and I layered the whisper white onto the raspberry ripple. I inked the Hello, Doily with crumb cake,  stamped off first then stamped onto the whisper white. It creates a nice subtle effect.  Inking the flower from Blooming with Kindness with raspberry ripple, I stamped it three different times. Running the Beautiful Wings Embosslits with perfect plum dsp through the big shot, I scattered the butterflies throughout my card. I also decorated the inside of the card with the color challenge. So now it's your turn to create something!

Until next time.

Chalkboard Sunday Stamps

Hello Stampers!  Hope you are enjoying your weekend!  We have been having a lot of fun!  The weather is beautiful in Phoenix!

Thank you all for your wonderful wishes and comments during my first week as a designer on Sunday Stamps.  I'm having fun!  We have a fun sketch for you at Sunday Stamps this week and Tara is our host! Have you tried out the chalkboard technique?  I have seen several cards using this awesome technique and I wanted to try it out for the sketch.  I used colors to match the colors in my craft room as I will be displaying.

Hope you come out and play with us this week!  Come check us out here.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Sale-a-Bration Pretty Petites

Hello Stampers!  Hope where ever you are, you are staying warm.  It finally feels like winter in Phoenix, baby it's cold outside!  Brrr...I'm staying warm by staying inside drinking hot chocolate and creating cards.  Using warm colors in my design also helps, at least mentally.

I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) the design of this card from one of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Designers display board at the Leadership conference this past week in Orlando.  I loved the simple design of it.  Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango and Summer Starfruit, with a hint of Pool Party instantly takes me away somewhere warm with a beach.  I used the new Sycamore Street DSP, with the brand new petite curly label and coordinating pretty petites stamp set, all from Sale-a-Bration!  Which starts next Tuesday! Great opportunity to earn great stuff with only a $50 order.

Well friends, hope your week is going well.  Gotta get back to creating, for fun!  :) Thanks again for stopping by and hope to see you soon.

I'm a designer for...

Happy Sunday Stampers! Hope your day is going well. The new year is off to an awesome start for me! I'm so excited because this past weekend I received an email from Holly Endress asking me if I would like to join the awesome designers at the Sunday Stamps blog challenge as a design team member for six months! Let me catch my breath...oh my goodness!!!! ME???  I am in awe and I happily accepted the offer! WOW! Every Sunday I'll have a new creation to share based on our challenges, so make sure to come back!

The challenge this week is a color challenge using these beautiful colors!  Let me tell you, it was a challenge for me, only initially.

This is what I created for my inaugural blog challenge!  Using the stamp set, Apothecary Art with the coordinating labels framelits, I created an easel card.  Do you ever find that making a card (or something) with the recipient in mind, helps the creativity flow?  I made this with my mentor in mind. I want to remind her all year that she is fabulous! This is really a beautiful color combo, one that I'll use again.

The sentiment is from a stamp set we received at the 2012 convention.  One of the many perks of attending convention, FREE STUFF!

To give my flowers more dimension and to make them stand out, I stamped them again on another sheet, colored them in and cut various of them out, then I popped them up with our dimensionals. I also created small rosettes with the 1 1/4 scallop circle.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you check out the Sunday Stamps blog here and come and play with us!  We love to see what you create with these colors!

Stampin' Up! items I used to create this:
  • Stamp sets: Apothecary Art, I Am...
  • Paper:  Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White and Polka Dot Parade DSP
  • Ink: Midnight Muse
  • Other: Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, Labels Collection Framelits, 1 1/4 scallop circle punch

 Until next time!

More Pinwheel Wishes

Hola Stampers!  It's the end of another wonderful week!  I've been having fun creating swaps using items from the Spring Catalog.  There is so much variety in it, something for everyone.  Quick post tonight.  I love this dsp, maybe because of the bright colors. Anyhoo, hopefully I'll get a chance to come back tomorrow.  Hope your weekend starts off well.

All Dressed Up...

Good evening Stampers!  Hope your week is going well.  Sorry I've been away...I had several stamping projects come up (swaps) that I had to finish.  I also was finishing up a project that I will show you on Sunday when I announce some big crafting news, for me!  So make sure you come back on Sunday.  I'm super excited!

I'm so in love with the new stamp set and new coordinating framelits, All Dressed Up from the Spring Catalog.  Even better is that you can save money if you purchase the stamp set and framelits together in a bundle!  This is one bundle you don't want to miss!

I created this card for an organized swap through our online demonstrator website.  The colors I used are baja breeze, early espresso, crumb cake and whisper white. With stamping, like fashion, you can incorporate new items with older items and make it your own.  I dug out my manhattan flower embossing folder to create a nice background on early espresso and then I spritz some champagne mist shimmer paint on it. I love how the card turned out.  Hopefully my fellow swappers will too.  The new 1/4 stitched grosgrain ribbon works well when used around the waist of the dress.  The dsp is patio party.  The row of x's is the new needlepoint border embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to stop by on Sunday for my big news!  Have a great evening.

Fab Friday Challenge...on a Saturday

Hello stampers!  Hope your weekend is going well.  It was a busy and fun Saturday for me.  I have been wanting to participate in the wonderful blog challenges from the Fab Friday blog.  I came across their blog challenge for the new year here and I knew I wanted to try it out.  The challenge for the new year is a sketch and the idea for my card came to me last night as I was getting ready to go to sleep, does that ever happen to you?  Anyhow, here is the sketch:

And since I have been liking the faux tearing technique, this is what I came up with:

I have a confession though, this is the FIRST time I inked up the Papillion Potpourri stamp set! I know, crazy.  But it worked out better because of the NEW Bitty Butterfly punch that coordinates with this stamp set.  Love items that coordinate.  The other NEW item on my card is the Needlepoint Border textured impressions embossing folder.  OMG, it is so cute and it comes with two folders!  Both the punch and the embossing are available in the Spring Catalog.   The sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set, available in the annual catalog.  I love the shimmer on the card!

Sorry this is a short post my friends.  It's getting late and my comfy bed is calling me so I can dream of more card creations.  Thanks again for stopping by.

Until next time.

Pinwheel Wishes...

Well stampers, I'm back with another creation to share with you using items from the 2013 Spring Catalog.  I used the new pinwheel die and it makes perfect pinwheels! I used Comfort Cafe dsp. As well as the coordinating stamp set, Wishes Your Way.  The two go perfect together!  I used a technique called faux tearing and I love the way it turned out.  I sponged pool party and soft suede onto very vanilla card stock. Then I sprayed a bit of vanilla shimmer smooch spritz.  You can see it better in the second photo.  It looks so cool.

I made this card for a good friend who recently got a great promotion at work.  The sentiment works perfect for the card.  I wanted it to be a masculine card and hope I accomplished it.

Hope you had a wonderful Friday.  Hopefully I'll be back this weekend with more to share.  Thanks for stopping by.  Let me know if you like the faux tearing technique.

Happy 2013!

Hello stampers!  Hope 2013 is off to a great start for you!  I can't believe it is already a new year. Today is also the first day of the new Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog!  I can't wait to show you what I create with so many wonderful new items!

I was looking for inspiration to get me back into stamping and I came across the new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  This was a great sketch for me as I used it to create nine cards for a Sale-A-Bration (SAB) swap with my group.  Make sure to check out the creations here.

SAB will start January 22, 2013 and there are so many wonderful items to earn for free with a $50 order!  Oh, and did I tell you that Stampin' Up is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year!  Big party! So if you are interested in hosting a party or if you would like for me to provide a private party, let me know!

So for my card, I used the new designer series paper from SAB called Sycamore Street. Love the colors in the pack.  Sometimes some dsp sheets can have a very busy design and can be challenging when creating with it. I find that if I cut down the dsp into smaller strips or sections, it's not so overwhelming. Know what I mean?  Anyhow, the other two new SAB products I used is the Pretty Petites stamp set, which is oh so cute and the coordinating punch, the petite curly label. You can only get these items with a qualifying order.

I also started cleaning my craft room-again.  My goal this year is to get my room in organized and in order.  Organized in a way that works for me.  Often times I will see photos of other crafters and their rooms and I get inspired and wish my room could look like theirs.  So we'll see.  I created a board on pinterest for craft rooms/home offices to gain some inspiration. For sure I will get getting rid of retired stamp sets, so be on the look out for that.

One thing I started doing with my clear stamp sets, especially if it has coordinating framelits is to glue a magnet sheet on the inside of the case and store the framelits with the stamp set.  Of course, the framelits already come in nice envelops, but this way it's easier to reach.  What do you think?  I hope this works.  By the way, this new stamp set, All Dressed Up and the coordinating framelits, Dressed Up are available in the spring catalog.  You can show directly from my online store!

Well my friends, I better get going.  Have more things to create so I can show you.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
