For you...

Happy Monday Stampers! Can't believe it is already the last week of 2013! Really, last few days of 2013! Wow, what a year. It's been a nice restful weekend and I'm glad I had some time to create.

I'm participating in a new blog challenge today, Fusion Card Challenge although I only used the sketch, gotta love those banners! Lots of inspiration on their site.

I also followed both challenges from The Friday Maashup!, the color combo and using bling.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
Create a project using the colors "Real Red, Gumball Green, Bermuda Bay & Crumb Cake."
Create a project with some "Glimmer/Shimmer/Bling. "
Or Mash it Up and create a project "Real Red, Gumball Green, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake & Glimmer."

Here is my take on both challenges:

Hope you're not getting tired of me using the Best of Sale-A-Bration stamp set, lol. I do like all the images in this set.  I turned the sketch horizontal.

Below are all the images from this set.

Thanks for stopping by today, until next times.

Throwback Thursday

Hello Stampers! Happy Thursday and welcome back to another Throwback Thursday!  I'm featuring another "retired" stamp set today.

I saw the new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and I was inspired to play along with the Designers this week. You can check them out here. Isn't it a fun sketch! I know I will be using this sketch again.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I love the way it came out! So glad I kept this stamp set, Greeting Card Kids.  They are so cute, especially this beauty with her Christmas tree. I also used some retired Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint on the DSP and onto the Whisper White. Did you notice I paper-pieced the dress with some DSP?  Loving those Expressions Thinlits Dies!  The "Merry" sentiment looks great when used with the silver glimmer paper.

Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time.

Nacho Love!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope your week is going well.  The Nachos have a new sketch for you to play along with us this week. Come check us out and hope the sketch inspires you to join us.

Here is my take on the sketch:

Valentine's Day??  Yes, indeed. I believe Valentine's Day should be every day, as should Christmas, but that's a discussion for another day.  This card has some sneak peeks from the upcoming 2014 Occasions catalog, which will begin on January 3, 2014 and from the 2014 Sale-A-Bration catalog, which will begin on January 28, 2014.  Can you guess what's new?

Thanks for stopping by today, until next time!

Throwback Thursday!

Hello Stampers!  Welcome back!  Thanks for stopping by today.

The other day as I was browsing through our online site just for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, a fellow demo, Nicole Tugrul created a cute Christmas card with a retired stamp set. Now, how many of us have a favorite set or two that is retired that we forget to use? I know I do! I was inspired to dust off one of my favorite Christmas sets for my creation today. Hence, the Throwback Thursday post for today.

I used a stamp set called Sunny Seasons Greetings, back from 2001.  It's a set of 7 images, and this was back when you had to cut out your own stamps, in other words, cut off the excess rubber from the stamp.  It was a lot of work.  But I'm glad I never got rid of this set. I remember when I first bought it, I fell in love with the palm tree and the Santa image.  Living in Arizona, the weather is perfect around this time of year.  You will often see people walking around in shorts, t-shirts and flip fops.

Of course, once I got the stamp set in my hands and started playing with it, I realized how much "work" it was to color in the images, lol.  So back then, making duplicate Christmas cards with this stamp set was not in the cards for me...a few cards, yes, but not for everyone on my list!

But for today, I had fun coloring in all the images.

Here is what I created:

What do you think?  Do you remember this stamp set? Lots of colors in this card, but I really like the way it came out! I also used non-traditional Christmas colors; Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay to layer my card.

Until next time my friends!

Joyful Christmas

Happy Wednesday Stampers! Hope your week is going well! What a beautiful feeling to be in the Christmas spirit. The other day I watched the CMA Country Christmas special and I can really listen to Christmas music all year long.

I'm back today with a new card that I created by combining two blog challenges. A color challenge from Fab Friday using Coastal Cabana, Real Red and Gumball Green and a sketch from Retro Sketches.

This is my creation:

I really like the way it came out because I stepped out of my comfort zone again, this time by creating a square card. I usually always create a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base so it was fun creating this one. I finally purchased the Joyful Christmas stamp set and I'm so glad that I did! I used gold embossing powder to bring out the lines in the poinsettia. The smaller stems, I colored them on Whisper White and cut them out then popped them up with dimensionals.  I felt like I should add more to my card, but finally decided to leave it alone.

What about you, have you created different size cards?  Do you have a usual size of your cards?

Thanks for stopping by today, until next time.

Blooming with...Nacho Color!

Happy Tuesday Stampers! Hope the week is going well for you. We have another fun new color challenge for you at Nacho Average Challenges. Lots of inspiration from the Design Team with this color combo. We hope you will play along with us.

I wouldn't normally combine these colors so I was stumped for a bit.  As I viewed various challenge blogs, I came across the sketch from Create with Connie and Mary and inspiration hit!

I really like the sketch because it is a unique way to use DSP as layers on the front of your card. I find myself layering my cards the same way each time so this was a nice change.

Thanks for stopping by today, until next time.

Happy Sunday Stampers! Can't believe it is the first Sunday of December! Wow, time is flying by so fast! If you live in the United States, hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  Did you go out and fight the crowds by shopping?

We have a fun new Sunday Stamps sketch created by Hayley for our bi-weekly challenge! Thanks to all of you who continue to play along with us.  We love visiting your blogs and seeing your creations.

I once again used the Best of Snow stamp set. I finally colored the cute little hedgehog and the snowman. Those two are so adorable. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler and the DSP is layered with Chocolate Chip.

Thanks for stopping by today, until next time.

Best of Snow

Happy Sunday Stampers! Let me first extend a huge thank you to all 26 of you who joined us for our past Sunday Stamps sketch!  What an awesome response to the sketch I designed!  Thank you!  I hope you will all continue to join us with your creations!

We have a new challenge starting today, a color one.  I'm inspired by the creations of my fellow designers, such a talented group of women I have the honor of designing with!

Yesterday I had a workshop/class with my friends, Gwen, Gloria and Elizabeth A. It was fun!  They are advanced stampers and I showed them some new tricks and tips!  I showed them various ways to use the Card Base Pop 'n Cuts.  For my card today, I made an easel card. I also used the new stamp set called Best of Snow, it's part of the Best of 25 Years series.  Such a cute set.

Here are all the images from this set.  I can't wait to color the hedgehog! Or is it a porcupine? :)

Thanks for stopping by today, until next time.

Another Fab Friday Mashup!

Hi Stampers!  Welcome back!  Oh my goodness am I super excited to share my creation with you today!! I combined two blog challenges into one for my card.  The color challenge from Fab Friday and the design challenge at The Friday Mashup. This is my second time combining both challenges, it must be something about Fridays!  I was challenged by both blogs and so happy that I was, my creative mojo got a great boost!

I used a technique called scherenschnitte stamping and I found the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.  I hate to admit that this was the first time I inked up the stamp set called Forest Friends, even though it is now retired.  When I first got the stamp set I had an idea of what I wanted to use it for, but I never got around to it, until now.  So glad I remembered I have this set and that I never got rid of it!

I LOVE HOW THIS CAME OUT!!!  I'm so proud of myself. Wanna hear something funny, it took me longer to cut out the polaroid frame!  It kept tearing and tearing...I finally had to glue it very carefully.  Cutting out the deer and the bunny was easier! LOL.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with a "Game/Woodsy type Animal (Deer, Moose, Turkey, etc). "
  2. Create a project using a "Woodgrain look. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a "project with Woodgrain and a Woodsy animal image. "

I always appreciate receiving comments on my blog, let me know if you have tried this technique before or if you have a retired stamp set you just inked up for the first time!

Thanks so much for stopping by, until next time!

Wildflower Meadow

Happy Nacho Tuesday Stampers!  If you had the day off yesterday, hope you had a fun day! Welcome back to another fun Nacho Average Challenge!  Today we have a sketch for you to play along with us. Thanks to all of you who have been playing along with us, we love to see your creations.

I flipped the sketch and I inked up the Wildflower Meadow background stamp and embossed it with white embossing powder onto our watercolor paper.  I watercolored the background with Crushed Curry. I think I need to practice my watercoloring strokes. Either that or anything to purchase more supplies. :)

Thanks for stopping by, until next time.

Hey there friend...

Hi Stampers...I'm back...rare occasion to have two blog posts in one day...but I couldn't resist once I saw this cool sketch from the Paper Craft Crew. I was inspired by the creations from the Design Team (hi Heather!!) but obviously I can't CASE their creations and submit it again, lol, so I put my creative cap on and the light bulb came on!

This is what I came up with, a colorful rainbow banner! I love the way it came out. Thanks for the inspiration Paper Craft Crew, I'll be using this sketch again.

Thanks for stopping by again, until next time.

Happy Veterans Day & Tis' The Season

Hello Stampers! Happy Veterans Day!  A huge thanks to all our Veterans and all they have done! To their families as well.  Thank you!

Hope you had a nice weekend.  It was a busy and fun one for me.  I have been working on some swaps and my creations as part of the Design Team for Sunday Stamps and Nacho Average blogs.  You'll see those creations later this week.

Today I have another Christmas card to share.  This is the challenge over at Tis' The Season with the optional trimming of stripes. I knew I wanted to play along once I saw the banner.

This is what I created, a neutral holiday card.  I've been seeing the red holiday cups at Starbucks and  that was my inspiration.  The base of my card is Baked Brown Sugar layered with Crumb Cake and then Early Espresso. Some Cherry Cobbler with all those browns makes my cup pop.

Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time.

Regarding...Nacho...Dahlias

Happy Nacho Tuesday Stampers! Hope your week is going well so far!

We have a new color challenge for you to play along with the Nachos this week. Now, if you don't know, Melon Mambo is one of my favorite colors! Pairing it with Early Espresso and Marina Mist is gorgeous!  Oh my goodness, I'll be using this combo more often.  I hope it inspires you to join us, can't wait to see what you create!

I also followed the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch as I love the banners! Told 'ya I still love banners! Love the final result of this card.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Until next time.
