Oh, Hello...Thanks so much

Good morning Stampers!  Sorry my post is up late today, was having problems with our internet during the weekend. But all is good now.  Holly is our host this week at Sunday Stamps and she has a fun sketch for us.  I had so much fun using this sketch because banners continue to be popular in paper crafting. Make sure you check out the beautiful creations from my fellow design team members to inspire you.

I love the Oh, Hello stamp set from the current Spring catalog.  I haven't been playing with it as much but now I know I will be well past May 31 (wink, wink). With the Color Refresh that Stampin' Up! introduced, Perfect Plum is now in the regals color family instead of the subtles. I paired it with Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple (2012-2014 InColor) and Very Vanilla.  I love this color combo!

I used the chevron stamp to create one of my banners. The other two were created using the subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.  I cut out the rose and popped the top part of the rose with the Stampin' Dimensionals.

I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week, we love to see what you create. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope your Sunday is a great one! Until next time.

Artisan Dress Up...

Hello happy stampers!  Happy Sunday to you!  We have a fun new color challenge at Sunday Stamps this week.  Hope you get a chance to play along with us.  I had to whip up this card super fast because I   was almost late with my creation for this week.  Sorry Holly. I was playing around with a new technique and I was not getting it.  Ever encounter that?  I may try it out again later this week as I think it will work great with these colors.

So this is what I came up with. Still having lots of fun with the Dress Up Framelits. I used the large oval lace from the Artisan Embellishments Kits from the Spring Catalog.  This entire kit is definitely one that once you see it in person, you want it.  Very pretty.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Sorry this is short post, it's been a very long week and a longer weekend. Until next time.

Oh, Whale...

Hello Stampers! How's your week going?  Mine is going good.  I came across another blog challenge this week that I wanted to try out.  There are so many cool ideas at the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to inspire you using these three colors.  You can check out them out here.

I had this idea in my head for awhile now and I am so excited with how it came out!!  I used the Oh, Whale! stamp set from the current spring catalog to create a penny spinner card.  Oh my goodness, the whale is super, duper cute! And when you use it with the Happy Whale clearlit die, easy!  Have you created a card using the penny spinner technique before? Using the DSP with the waves from the Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP worked out perfect for my card.

The butterfly stamp from A Fitting Occasion is small and detailed enough to not overwhelm the card. I couldn't resist using the googly eyes from the past Holiday catalog. I inked the sentiment in lucky limeade.

Well I better get going friends.  Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.

The Paper Players challenge...

Happy Monday stampers! Hope you had a good Sunday.  I came across a cool color challenge from The Paper Players that I wanted to try out.  Late last week I received my Stampin' Success magazine and in it I read about a cool technique that I wanted to try out.  In three easy steps you can create a cool background.

First step, you gently drag ink pads over card stock. I used baja breeze, island indigo and a little bit of crumb cake. I think it looks cool.

Second step, depending on which stamp set you use (the magazine suggested a background stamp), you ink it up and then, third step; stamp onto the decorated background.  I instead chose the sentiment from You're Amazing and inked it in rich razzleberry. I also sponged the edges with rich razzleberry. So what do you think of this technique? I like it and can't wait to try it out with other colors.

The base of my card is rich razzleberry and I layered the island indigo DSP from Summer Smooches onto the baja breeze card stock. I also layered my apothecary framelits onto crumb cake card stock.

So make sure you check out the other creations at The Paper Players blog, lots of inspiration. Thanks again for stopping by.  Hope your Monday is great. Until next time.

Crushed curry flowers...

Greetings fellow stampers!  Thanks for stopping by today, I'm hosting my first sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps this week. With spring in the air, my inspiration for my sketch was a flower planter. Although I sometimes joke that Phoenix only has two seasons, summer and hotter summer, lol.  It's been a warmer than usual weekend. Anyhow, as I mentioned last Sunday, Stampin' Up! is under going a color refresh by introducing 10 colors, some former InColors and a new color. That's on top of the five new InColors that will be introduced with the new catalog! Still with me? Okay, so I happen to still have my classic ink pads for several former InColors, which I was jumping for joy!

The flowers from the Button Buddies stamp set were inked in crushed curry. I love this color! It's a richer, bold yellow.  It might make me crave thai food more, pad thai anyone? The ribbon is retired from several catalogs ago but it worked out perfect for my card today. I used our early espresso designer buttons.

The butterfly is inked in bermuda bay, another returning InColor from past catalogs. Bermuda bay is a cooler blue, does the name take you away on vacation? I love the clever names Stampin' Up! has for our colors.

So here is our sketch for this week. Make sure you check out the creations from my fellow designers here and I hope you play along with us. We love to see what you create. You have until Friday, April 19th at 6 pm to link up your project.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful Sunday!  Until next time.

Sunday Stamps...A Round Array

Happy Sunday Stampers! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday.  We have a new color challenge at Sunday Stamps this week and Steph is our hostess. My fellow designers have created beautiful creations so make sure to check them out here. Hope you play along with us as we love to see your creations.

I again used the new stamp set A Round Array for my card. I used So Saffron as my card base and layered it with Not Quite Navy. I also used Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the current Spring Catalog. I'm loving using the A Round Array stamp set with the soda pop tops

Stampin' Up! is also undergoing a Color Refresh.  Ten colors will be retired and ten other colors will be introduced.  Some of the colors you are already familiar with such as, pool party, wisteria wonder, calypso coral and so many others!  I'm excited to play with crushed curry and bermuda bay!

Well friends, thanks for stopping by.  Hope you a great day!  Until next time.

A first "Chic Challenge"...

Hello Stampers! Happy Wednesday. Hope your week is going well.  I'm trying to get my blog mojo back and blogging more consistently. I came across a cool sketch from following Erica Cerwin's Art Inspiration Pinterest board. It then lead to a new blog challenge site called Chic Challenges and I recognize some of the design team members. Check out their creations here. I knew I wanted to play along!

So this is my take on their sketch.  I love the way it turned out. I'm loving the current Epic Day This and That bundle, especially the washi tape!! So glad Stampin' Up! is offering this. The designs from the designer series paper are so fresh! I love it! Combining it with items from the Spring Catalog is so much fun right now!

The Epic Day This and That has a vintage feel to it so I sponged a lot of crumb cake onto the very vanilla, calypso coral, pool party-well everywhere!  I also used a new stamp set that will be featured in the new 2013-2014 Annual Catalog, it's called A Round Array! It is the cutest stamp set and it coordinates with the 7/8 scallop punch. You can purchase the new stamp set right now until May 30, 2013.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I love reading your comments so let me know what you think about the new upcoming products.  Until next time my stamping friends!
