Swallowtail...Bleached

Hello Stampers! Happy Sunday! We have a fun new color challenge for you at Sunday Stamps so make sure you stop by and check out out the designs from my fellow designers. So much beautiful color inspiration.

So the color challenge is to use brown, lavender and turquoise in our creations.  I chose Early Espresso, Wisteria Wonder and Tempting Turquoise. I wanted to play with the Swallowtail background stamp and use the stamping with bleach technique. Have you tried this technique before? It's fun and I remember that Early Espresso is one of my favorite card stock papers to use with this technique. You check out a simple tutorial here.

So I stamped the Swallowtail onto the Early Espresso, I love the way it came out! The base of my card is Tempting Turquoise and layered it with Early Espresso.  I finally busted out my new Brights DSP Stack, love the redesign of the backgrounds! This is the Tempting Turquoise chevron background. I cut out the Swallowtail and used our some Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere it to the front. So that's the front of the card.  You're probably wondering, wasn't it a three color challenge?

Why, yes, it is a three color challenge and I used Wisteria Wonder to decorate the inside of my card. I layered Whisper White onto Wisteria Wonder. For my sentiment, I used one of our hostess sets,  Banner Greetings, which I inked in Wisteria Wonder.  And there you have it my friends.  Simple and quick. Which is funny because I kept looking at my card thinking it needed something more; ribbon, bling? I think simple and quick is good, it makes the butterfly stand out.

So hop on over to our blog challenge and play along.  You have until August 9th to upload your creation. Thanks for stopping by, until next time!

New Sneak Peek-2013 Holiday Catalog, Halloween Bash

Hello Stampers! Happy Monday. Thank you all for your get well wishes, feeling much better!  I took some time to play with some new items from our upcoming new Holiday Catalog.  I love being able to preorder new products ahead of schedule.  The new holiday catalog will go live on August 1st.  With all the wonderful new things from the new Annual Catalog, on top of the upcoming Holiday Catalog, it's a great time to be creative and get crafty.

I'm participating in another organized swap with a fellow demo from Stampin' Connection and as I was looking for inspiration, I came across the sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches blog. You can check out the beautiful creations from the Design Team here.

The new stamp set I used is called Halloween Bash. It's a set of five stamps that coordinate with several punches; the decorative label, large oval, scallop oval and the ticket builder duo builder. It also coordinates with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies.

The other new item from the upcoming catalog is the Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape! Once I started playing with it, I realized I gotta buy more of it.  It is so much fun to use!  I used it to create a halloween theme cake, hence the sentiment is perfect for it! The cake stand is from Make a Cake. The topper is a black rose created with the 7/8 scallop punch.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a great day!  Until next time.

New Sunday Stamps Sketch

Hello Stampers!  So sorry my post for our Sunday Stamps challenge is late but here it is.  I've been sick with a viral infection that I thought was just a minor cold since last week but it turned into something worst. It's caused my blood pressure to get out of whack, so doctor's orders, resting is in place for me.

My fellow designers have created some awesome creations to inspire you again, so please check them out here. This week we have a cool sketch and we hope you will come and play along with us.

As I was creating my card for the challenge it went a different way, instead of banners I used a tea lace paper doilie in the corner. The color combo for my card is Raspberry Ripple, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White and Basic Black. The rest of the card is simple.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time. Send me good vibes to get well soon. Thanks friends.

Flower Shop Swap

Hello Stampers!  I have another creation to share with you from the organized swap I participated in. For this card, I used the new Flower Shop stamp set and the coordinating Pansy punch. I love it when our Stampin' Up! products coordinate so well.

For this card I used one of the first techniques I learned when I first started stamping, "stamping off". I inked up the flower with the new In-Color Strawberry Slush, which once I paired it with Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray, it was a cool color combo. Anyhow, once you ink up your stamp, you "stamp off" getting different shades of the ink. Strawberry Slush is a new fave color of mine. The new Ruffle Stretch Trim is so much prettier in person! I love it.  It layered so perfect beneath the apothecary accents frame lit. You know how much I love to use our paper piercing templates! I punched out one of the flowers with the Pansy punch and used two dimensionals to pop it up. Using the Boho Blossoms punch, I punched out a small scallop circle using the Polka Dot Parade DSP in Daffodil Delight. I finished it off with a pearl basic jewel. The thinking of you sentiment is from Sassy Salutations.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Hope you have a super cool Saturday! Until next time.

TGIF!

Hello Stampers! Hope your Friday is going well.  I can't believe we are already into the month of July! We must be having lots of fun as the time is flying by.  I recently participated in an organized swap that a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator organized through our exclusive online group-Stampin' Connection. All the participants were to use a new stamp set from the annual catalog.  When I first saw this stamp set, Regarding Dahlias I knew I would be adding it to my collection.

My color combo for this card is Early Espresso, Wisteria Wonder, Raspberry Ripple and Whisper White. The dahlia is such a bold image that I kept my card simple. I used the needlepoint embossing folder to add some detail to the sentiment. Easy peasy!

My sweet Azul had to have surgery on his ear this past Wednesday, somehow something got inside his ear and it got really swollen. When I took him to the vet to get checked out, I got lucky and snapped this great photo of him. He was my back seat driver for the day, lol.  The surgery went well, he just hates wearing a cone so he won't scratch his ear.  Recovery time is two weeks and he has his check up next Saturday.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope your Friday is awesome!  Until next time.
