The other day as I was browsing through our online site just for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, a fellow demo, Nicole Tugrul created a cute Christmas card with a retired stamp set. Now, how many of us have a favorite set or two that is retired that we forget to use? I know I do! I was inspired to dust off one of my favorite Christmas sets for my creation today. Hence, the Throwback Thursday post for today.
I used a stamp set called Sunny Seasons Greetings, back from 2001. It's a set of 7 images, and this was back when you had to cut out your own stamps, in other words, cut off the excess rubber from the stamp. It was a lot of work. But I'm glad I never got rid of this set. I remember when I first bought it, I fell in love with the palm tree and the Santa image. Living in Arizona, the weather is perfect around this time of year. You will often see people walking around in shorts, t-shirts and flip fops.
Of course, once I got the stamp set in my hands and started playing with it, I realized how much "work" it was to color in the images, lol. So back then, making duplicate Christmas cards with this stamp set was not in the cards for me...a few cards, yes, but not for everyone on my list!
But for today, I had fun coloring in all the images.
Here is what I created:
What do you think? Do you remember this stamp set? Lots of colors in this card, but I really like the way it came out! I also used non-traditional Christmas colors; Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay to layer my card.
Until next time my friends!
