Vintage Verses

Hello Stampers! How's your week going?  We got lots of rain in Phoenix yesterday, which is always good, we need it!  So I've been playing with some other new items from the Spring catalog.  Impulse buying applies to stamping stuff, right?  Well, technically, I received the white creped filter paper free from Stampin' Up! as part of a promotion, except I don't remember why.  Hmm...anyhow, I had this paper sitting around my room and so glad I finally decided to play with it. I've seen various flowers made with this paper and I wanted to try it out.  A huge thanks to fellow demo Patty Bennett for her instructions on creating this flower. I couldn't create just one, but two!

I used three different punches for my flower. The 1 1/4 scallop circle, 1 3/4 scallop circle and the 2 3/8 scallop circle. The trick to using the creped filter paper with our punches-use copy paper to punch out your shape one at a time. The filter paper is really thin.  I punched out each shape four times and then crumpled it up to give it texture. Then I spritz some vanilla shimmer smooch spritz onto the paper for a slight shimmer effect.

OMG, I'm hooked!  You can dye, sponge, stamp on this paper, even use with your Big Shot but for these flowers, I like them in white. See why I couldn't just make one flower!  Paired with the Sycamore Street dsp from SAB and coordinating ribbon and the Vintage Verses stamp set, y ya (just like that) you have a completed card.  Oh, another first for me, using Sahara Sand card stock. Love it!

Well friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  Let me know what you think of the flower or if you have played with our white creped filter paper.  Until next time.

Sunday Stamps

Hello Stampers!  Happy Sunday to you!  We have another great challenge for you at Sunday Stamps this week!  Hayley is our host and she has a fun sketch for us!  So what are you waiting for, come play with us!

I really like the Sycamore Street DSP from Sale-a-Bration (SAB) this year.  Such wonderful colors.  This is a z-fold card and the base of the card is island indigo, layered with whisper white.  I used several items from the SAB catalog.  The ribbon and button pack includes three spools of island indigo, pool party and tangerine tango and it has a beautiful satin feel to it.  The colors of the buttons are pool party, tangerine tango and rich razzelberry. The summer starfruit butterflies are from the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set.

From the Spring Catalog I used our new Ovals Collection framelits.  I love that there is a new paper-piercing pack, the Occasions set.  You've probably noticed I like to do a lot of paper-piercing on my projects.  The bitty butterfly punch coordinates with the butterfly from the SAB Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set.  Gotta love product coordination.

From our Annual Catalog I used the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes set, a must have for various sentiments. The little girl is from the Lean on Me stamp set, which I received at the SU! Convention is 2011 while attending Hispanic Night. While my set is in Spanish and I ink the part of the stamp set I want to use.  I paper-pieced her dress with a small strip of the SAB Sycamore Street dsp.  I also used the Modern Label and Word Window punches and pearl basic jewels, on the butterflies. In case you didn't know, using the Blush Blossom Stampin' Write Marker is perfect for coloring in flesh tones on stamped images.

Well friends, that's all I have for now.  Thanks again for stopping by.  Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!  Until next time!

SAB Shoebox Swap

Hello Stampers!  Happy Tuesday!

Hope you created something this weekend!  Last night we have our downline/upline Shoe Box Swap meeting using stamp sets and items from the SAB catalog.  I got so many wonderful ideas on how to use some of the stamp sets, especially the ones that I didn't initially like.  Good thing SAB goes on until March 22!

So I used the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set.  Love that the new bitty butterfly from the Spring Catalog coordinates with the butterfly in this stamp set.  I'm loving our new cloudy day embossing folder.  I cut it out with our label framelits in pool party and then sponged pacific point to give it more detail.  The butterflies are stamped off several times in tangerine tango and summer starfruit and then I punched out two of them.  The Sycamore Street dsp is full of awesome designs but right now I'm really liking this pattern.

Well that's all for now friends.  Gotta finish putting together several stamp sets I ordered and received so I can play with them. Thanks so much for stopping by.  Until next time!

Sale-a-Bration Pretty Petites

Hello Stampers!  Hope where ever you are, you are staying warm.  It finally feels like winter in Phoenix, baby it's cold outside!  Brrr...I'm staying warm by staying inside drinking hot chocolate and creating cards.  Using warm colors in my design also helps, at least mentally.

I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) the design of this card from one of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Designers display board at the Leadership conference this past week in Orlando.  I loved the simple design of it.  Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango and Summer Starfruit, with a hint of Pool Party instantly takes me away somewhere warm with a beach.  I used the new Sycamore Street DSP, with the brand new petite curly label and coordinating pretty petites stamp set, all from Sale-a-Bration!  Which starts next Tuesday! Great opportunity to earn great stuff with only a $50 order.

Well friends, hope your week is going well.  Gotta get back to creating, for fun!  :) Thanks again for stopping by and hope to see you soon.

Happy 2013!

Hello stampers!  Hope 2013 is off to a great start for you!  I can't believe it is already a new year. Today is also the first day of the new Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog!  I can't wait to show you what I create with so many wonderful new items!

I was looking for inspiration to get me back into stamping and I came across the new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  This was a great sketch for me as I used it to create nine cards for a Sale-A-Bration (SAB) swap with my group.  Make sure to check out the creations here.

SAB will start January 22, 2013 and there are so many wonderful items to earn for free with a $50 order!  Oh, and did I tell you that Stampin' Up is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year!  Big party! So if you are interested in hosting a party or if you would like for me to provide a private party, let me know!

So for my card, I used the new designer series paper from SAB called Sycamore Street. Love the colors in the pack.  Sometimes some dsp sheets can have a very busy design and can be challenging when creating with it. I find that if I cut down the dsp into smaller strips or sections, it's not so overwhelming. Know what I mean?  Anyhow, the other two new SAB products I used is the Pretty Petites stamp set, which is oh so cute and the coordinating punch, the petite curly label. You can only get these items with a qualifying order.

I also started cleaning my craft room-again.  My goal this year is to get my room in organized and in order.  Organized in a way that works for me.  Often times I will see photos of other crafters and their rooms and I get inspired and wish my room could look like theirs.  So we'll see.  I created a board on pinterest for craft rooms/home offices to gain some inspiration. For sure I will get getting rid of retired stamp sets, so be on the look out for that.

One thing I started doing with my clear stamp sets, especially if it has coordinating framelits is to glue a magnet sheet on the inside of the case and store the framelits with the stamp set.  Of course, the framelits already come in nice envelops, but this way it's easier to reach.  What do you think?  I hope this works.  By the way, this new stamp set, All Dressed Up and the coordinating framelits, Dressed Up are available in the spring catalog.  You can show directly from my online store!

Well my friends, I better get going.  Have more things to create so I can show you.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
