Nacho...Roses

Happy Tuesday Stampers! Hope your week is off to a great start! We have a great new sketch for you starting today! Come check us out and play along! We love to see what you create!

Here is how I used the sketch for my creation this week:

I love the roses/flowers from the Oh, Hello stamp set. I embossed the sentiment with White Embossing Powder. So what will this sketch inspire you to create?

Thanks for visiting today! Until next time.

TGIF!

Hello Stampers! Hope your Friday is going well.  I can't believe we are already into the month of July! We must be having lots of fun as the time is flying by.  I recently participated in an organized swap that a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator organized through our exclusive online group-Stampin' Connection. All the participants were to use a new stamp set from the annual catalog.  When I first saw this stamp set, Regarding Dahlias I knew I would be adding it to my collection.

My color combo for this card is Early Espresso, Wisteria Wonder, Raspberry Ripple and Whisper White. The dahlia is such a bold image that I kept my card simple. I used the needlepoint embossing folder to add some detail to the sentiment. Easy peasy!

My sweet Azul had to have surgery on his ear this past Wednesday, somehow something got inside his ear and it got really swollen. When I took him to the vet to get checked out, I got lucky and snapped this great photo of him. He was my back seat driver for the day, lol.  The surgery went well, he just hates wearing a cone so he won't scratch his ear.  Recovery time is two weeks and he has his check up next Saturday.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope your Friday is awesome!  Until next time.

Sneak Peek...New Hostess Set

Hello Stampers!  Hope your week is going great!  I'm so excited to share with you tonight a sneak peek of an upcoming hostess stamp set, Banner Greetings. I'm going to love this set!  It'll be featured in the upcoming 2013-2014 Annual Catalog. As I have mentioned before, banners continue to be popular. When I saw this sentiment I couldn't wait to pair it with the current Make a Cake stamp set!

I saw this sketch from The Paper Players and I wanted to play along.  This is such a cute sketch! Make sure you check out the creations from the design team members. I think I will use it for other cards.

As I was creating this card I was thinking of my dear cousin Zoraima, she and her husband are expecting their second child and they are having a girl! Congrats cousin!  They currently live in Seoul but will be coming home for the summer soon. I hope she likes it.

The base of my card is Pink Pirouette and I layered it with Primose Petals. The Pretty In Pink DSP is from the Subtles paper stack. I love pairing Early Espresso with any of our pinks.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a fantastic Friday! Until next time.

Vintage Verses

Hello Stampers! How's your week going?  We got lots of rain in Phoenix yesterday, which is always good, we need it!  So I've been playing with some other new items from the Spring catalog.  Impulse buying applies to stamping stuff, right?  Well, technically, I received the white creped filter paper free from Stampin' Up! as part of a promotion, except I don't remember why.  Hmm...anyhow, I had this paper sitting around my room and so glad I finally decided to play with it. I've seen various flowers made with this paper and I wanted to try it out.  A huge thanks to fellow demo Patty Bennett for her instructions on creating this flower. I couldn't create just one, but two!

I used three different punches for my flower. The 1 1/4 scallop circle, 1 3/4 scallop circle and the 2 3/8 scallop circle. The trick to using the creped filter paper with our punches-use copy paper to punch out your shape one at a time. The filter paper is really thin.  I punched out each shape four times and then crumpled it up to give it texture. Then I spritz some vanilla shimmer smooch spritz onto the paper for a slight shimmer effect.

OMG, I'm hooked!  You can dye, sponge, stamp on this paper, even use with your Big Shot but for these flowers, I like them in white. See why I couldn't just make one flower!  Paired with the Sycamore Street dsp from SAB and coordinating ribbon and the Vintage Verses stamp set, y ya (just like that) you have a completed card.  Oh, another first for me, using Sahara Sand card stock. Love it!

Well friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  Let me know what you think of the flower or if you have played with our white creped filter paper.  Until next time.

Fab Friday Challenge...on a Saturday

Hello stampers!  Hope your weekend is going well.  It was a busy and fun Saturday for me.  I have been wanting to participate in the wonderful blog challenges from the Fab Friday blog.  I came across their blog challenge for the new year here and I knew I wanted to try it out.  The challenge for the new year is a sketch and the idea for my card came to me last night as I was getting ready to go to sleep, does that ever happen to you?  Anyhow, here is the sketch:

And since I have been liking the faux tearing technique, this is what I came up with:

I have a confession though, this is the FIRST time I inked up the Papillion Potpourri stamp set! I know, crazy.  But it worked out better because of the NEW Bitty Butterfly punch that coordinates with this stamp set.  Love items that coordinate.  The other NEW item on my card is the Needlepoint Border textured impressions embossing folder.  OMG, it is so cute and it comes with two folders!  Both the punch and the embossing are available in the Spring Catalog.   The sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set, available in the annual catalog.  I love the shimmer on the card!

Sorry this is a short post my friends.  It's getting late and my comfy bed is calling me so I can dream of more card creations.  Thanks again for stopping by.

Until next time.
