Crushed curry flowers...

Greetings fellow stampers!  Thanks for stopping by today, I'm hosting my first sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps this week. With spring in the air, my inspiration for my sketch was a flower planter. Although I sometimes joke that Phoenix only has two seasons, summer and hotter summer, lol.  It's been a warmer than usual weekend. Anyhow, as I mentioned last Sunday, Stampin' Up! is under going a color refresh by introducing 10 colors, some former InColors and a new color. That's on top of the five new InColors that will be introduced with the new catalog! Still with me? Okay, so I happen to still have my classic ink pads for several former InColors, which I was jumping for joy!

The flowers from the Button Buddies stamp set were inked in crushed curry. I love this color! It's a richer, bold yellow.  It might make me crave thai food more, pad thai anyone? The ribbon is retired from several catalogs ago but it worked out perfect for my card today. I used our early espresso designer buttons.

The butterfly is inked in bermuda bay, another returning InColor from past catalogs. Bermuda bay is a cooler blue, does the name take you away on vacation? I love the clever names Stampin' Up! has for our colors.

So here is our sketch for this week. Make sure you check out the creations from my fellow designers here and I hope you play along with us. We love to see what you create. You have until Friday, April 19th at 6 pm to link up your project.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful Sunday!  Until next time.

Sunday Stamps...A Round Array

Happy Sunday Stampers! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday.  We have a new color challenge at Sunday Stamps this week and Steph is our hostess. My fellow designers have created beautiful creations so make sure to check them out here. Hope you play along with us as we love to see your creations.

I again used the new stamp set A Round Array for my card. I used So Saffron as my card base and layered it with Not Quite Navy. I also used Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the current Spring Catalog. I'm loving using the A Round Array stamp set with the soda pop tops

Stampin' Up! is also undergoing a Color Refresh.  Ten colors will be retired and ten other colors will be introduced.  Some of the colors you are already familiar with such as, pool party, wisteria wonder, calypso coral and so many others!  I'm excited to play with crushed curry and bermuda bay!

Well friends, thanks for stopping by.  Hope you a great day!  Until next time.

A first "Chic Challenge"...

Hello Stampers! Happy Wednesday. Hope your week is going well.  I'm trying to get my blog mojo back and blogging more consistently. I came across a cool sketch from following Erica Cerwin's Art Inspiration Pinterest board. It then lead to a new blog challenge site called Chic Challenges and I recognize some of the design team members. Check out their creations here. I knew I wanted to play along!

So this is my take on their sketch.  I love the way it turned out. I'm loving the current Epic Day This and That bundle, especially the washi tape!! So glad Stampin' Up! is offering this. The designs from the designer series paper are so fresh! I love it! Combining it with items from the Spring Catalog is so much fun right now!

The Epic Day This and That has a vintage feel to it so I sponged a lot of crumb cake onto the very vanilla, calypso coral, pool party-well everywhere!  I also used a new stamp set that will be featured in the new 2013-2014 Annual Catalog, it's called A Round Array! It is the cutest stamp set and it coordinates with the 7/8 scallop punch. You can purchase the new stamp set right now until May 30, 2013.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I love reading your comments so let me know what you think about the new upcoming products.  Until next time my stamping friends!

Kindness Matters

Hello Stampers!  I'm super excited to share with you my creation for our Sunday Stamps challenge this week.  Hayley is our host this week and she has a cool sketch for your inspiration.  This is a fun sketch to show off some of your favorite dsp. Come and play along with us this week and check out what my fellow Sunday Stamps designers have created.

Are you scratching your head trying to figure which current dsp this is? Well, it's not in the current annual catalog or the spring catalog because it's a new product line that will debut in the new 2013-2014 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog. So excited, it's from the new line called This and That and you can purchase the entire bundle now until April 30th.  If you purchase it now, you save 15% off the entire bundle. So don't miss out.  You can shop directly from my online store. I love the colors in this collection. I can't believe that in just two months we'll have a brand new catalog with all new dsp collections.

Another cool thing that is brand new is the washi tape, I used the crumb cake one. It's so fun to use and it was easy to create the ruffles with it. You get 3 different colors for less than $5! Check out this cool video showcasing more products from this bundle.

Happy Sunday Stampers! Have you checked out our new blog redesign at Sunday Stamps? Kudos to Holly for a fabulous redo! Love the new look! So come check us out and play along with our challenges!

Joan is our hostess this week and she chose three fabulous colors for the color challenge this week. I'm not going to lie, I made three different cards with this color combo but I didn't like any of them.  Guess I'm my own harsh critic.  I just wasn't feeling what I created. In the end, a CAS (clean and simple) card won. Does that ever happen to you?

I used so saffron as my neutral and layered it on top of rich razzleberry, which makes the so saffron pop.  I played with items from the current annual catalog; our oval designer frame embossing folder, the  extra large oval punch, Raining Flowers and Blooming with Kindness stamp sets and 3/8 calypso coral ruffled ribbon.  I paper pierced the flowers on the Tea for Two DSP. You can't tell from the photo but I used stampin' dimensionals on the flowers. I like the end result, what do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope our challenge inspires you to create something. Have a wonderful Sunday!

SAB Swaps

Hello Stampers! Hope your week is going well.  Sale-a-bration 2013 is coming to end, but just not yet. There are so many wonderful things in the catalog, don't miss your chance to get your free item with any $50 purchase.

So I wanted to share several swaps using stamps and items from the SAB catalog this year. The cards were made from organized swaps I participated in with my downline/sideline group as well as from shoebox swap meetings. Great ideas right!

Thanks for stopping by.  Until next time.

Ears to you...

Hello stampers! Happy Sunday and Happy St. Patrick's Day!! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

We have a fun new sketch at Sunday Stamps and Tara is our host this week.  My fellow designers have awesome creations to inspire you! Thanks to all of you who play along with us.  So come check us out.   Notice anything different about our blog?

I love our single stamp Ears to You.  I just love those bunnies.  When I saw Tara's sketch for this week I knew I wanted to ink up this stamp set again. (This single stamp is only available until March 31, 2013).  I used our early espresso embossing powder on them.  I guess you can say it is my version of chocolate bunnies, lol. I have to give credit to my friend Gwen Ruiz because she gave me the idea to use the embossing powder.  Thanks Gwen!

I love pairing Pretty in Pink with Whisper White and Early Espresso.  Using the finishing touches edgelits creates a nice border. Don't you love the large pearl as a bunny tail?

Thanks for stopping by friends.  Hope you don't get pinched today for not wearing green, lol. Until next time!
