Stampin' Up! 2012 Convention

Last week I was at the 2012 Stampin' Up! Annual Convention in Salt Lake City.  This is my second time attending convention and it was an awesome experience.  This year however, I flew out first thing Wednesday morning (July 18, 2012) and landed in SLC around 8:30 am.  Let me tell you, it was a long day!  There was lots to do on Wednesday before the conference started; picking up our convention bag, campus tour of the Riverton distribution center, Make & Takes, special evening class.  But it was fun overall.  

On Thursday, when the conference started and the video below was the welcoming video!  I love it!  The theme for convention this year was "i am" and it really hit home.  All the employees from Stampin' Up! are signing in it.  Recognize any familiar Stampin' Up! faces?  The song is amazing and I find myself signing it several times during the day.

Tricky Treats...

Hello friends!  I know, it's been a long time since I've posted anything...partly because I'm still a bit overwhelmed by maintaining a blog and seeing other SU! Demo blog makes me wish mine was set up better.  But, no excuses, the only way to master something is to tackle it straight on.  So here I go...

Our new Stampin' Up! catalog was released earlier this year, the new kick off date was June 1st and amazing how quickly time is going by!  One of the perks that I enjoy about being a Stampin' Up! demo is that we can pre-order items in advance before they are released to the public.  I ordered a few new items and I've slowing starting creating with some of them.

This card is for a swap my Upline, Diana Gibbs is organizing using new stamps from the catalog.  I love Halloween, though where I live, we don't get too many trick-or-treaters.  The stamp set is called "Tricky Treats" and all the images are so cute!  You can barely tell, but the spider web is covered with shimmer spritz.  Let me know what you think!  Thanks for taking a look and wish me luck as I continue this blogging adventure!

Hello there...

The new Summer Mini Catalog for Stampin' Up! went into effect May 1st!  So many great stamp sets and accessories!  This is the first stamp I've purchased from the summer mini! It's the "hello blossoms" stamp.  I had so much fun making this card.  I made it for a card swap with group here in Arizona.  Wait, I modified the card for the swap a bit, I didn't add the glitter.  Can't wait to receive the other cards!  Thanks for looking!

Popcorn...removal...

So for the past few days I have been working on remodeling my craft room.  I somehow decided that it wouldn't be so hectic to remove the popcorn(that's what I call it) from the ceiling, I mean, I wasn't going to be removing it, no big deal! Wrong! While our contractor mentioned that I did not need to remove everything from the room, just the big items, I decided, nah, I'll just go ahead and everyone everything. OMG, what a work it was!  I've been scrapbooking/paper crafting for over 10 years, not as a demonstrator, but just on my own.  I'm also an avid book reader and I've purchased many, many books these past years.  I also have a affinity to collecting "Wonder Woman" items, that collection has grown ten fold!  My craft room serves as a craft, book reading, collecting, relaxing room; that's a lot of items to have in one room.  Anyhow, the popcorn has successfully been removed and we decided that since the walls are now bare, let's go ahead and paint it!  Which is a smart idea and it saves me the hassle of removing the items later on again from my room. So needless to say, I've received my Stampin' Up! Starter kit and I have not had a chance to begin creating nor stamping!  I haven't even put up the Christmas tree!! 

I think positive, so no worries.  In the end, it'll all be worth it and it'll all be better!  I'll try to post some photos of my room in its pre-and-post condition.  Have a great evening!

Act Two: I'm a Stampin' Up Demonstrator-again

Hi there, I'm super excited because I recently signed up to become a new Stampin' Up! demonstrator and I'm ecstatic!  I really am!  I actually was a demonstrator back in 2000 or sometime around there, but that adventure didn't last long.  It was difficult for me to meet my quarterly deadlines and even though I loved the products...blah, blah, blah, the point being that this time around, I've learned from my mistakes and I went from Stampin' Up! customer and to now demonstrator!  I have a great Upline, my friend/co-worker Maria K. Hi Maria! And her Upline is awesome!  So I'm excited.  I've been a Scrapbooker/card-marker for over 10 years.  I've come a long way from using spray adhesive on my scrapbooks-gasp! I know, crazy, but you learn!

Anyhow, this time will be different because I have a plan to do better with Stampin' Up and I plan on following that plan!  Thank you for the applause, much appreciated.  Oh and BTW, I'm also new to this blog writing world...so be patient with me as I navigate through this new "blog" world and share my Stampin' Up! adventures with you.
